Covering the food scene in the San Gabriel Valley.

My Hanh has long been a solid staple of Vietnamese food in the San Gabriel Valley. Located on Garvey, they offer many set family style dinners that are both delicious and affordable.

The décor is hilariously tacky, but that shouldn’t deter you! If you go before 5, you also get a free drink. Choose from thai iced tea, iced coffee, rau ma, or soda.

Specialties here include the sour soup with catfish, salty catfish/pork in claypot, marinated shrimp. I also really liked that the steamed rice they gave is com tam aka broken rice, which is my favorite. Their portions are pretty big and they give you free dessert at the end. There is plenty of parking. Do keep in mind it’s cash only.

I’d recommend getting one of the many set dinners they offer, although they do have a la carte. They also have catfish here as well and multiple versions of banh canh, a famous Vietnamese noodle that I like better than pho. Give this place a chance. It might just surprise you.
