Banh Mi Che Cale is a great place to get cheap eats on the go. There are multiple branches in the 626 and you’re bound to spot a few driving down Valley Boulevard.
Some recommendations: Filled with vermicelli, fresh lettuce, chives, pickled radishes, nem noung, slightly spiced shrimp, and a fried spring roll wrapper — Banh Mi Che Cale’s spring rolls are absolutely delicious when paired with peanut hoisin sauce. $3.25 for a pack of three is also amazing for your wallet. Other good deals include Vietnamese rice noodles filled with pork ($3.75) and rice combination sets for $4.
For $1.25, you can also get your hands on a mini sandwich filled with fresh cucumbers, tomato, Vietnamese meatloaf, and an egg. It’s stuffed in a slightly sweet bun and filled with a refreshing set of flavors.
This place is a $5 or less heaven for people on a budget.
